The Indo-German Energy Programme (IGEN Access - II) is a bilateral cooperation project carried out by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in partnership with the Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. IGEN Access II aims to improve the energy supply in rural areas of selected federal states and implemented in India since April 2019.
The IGEN-Access-II programme intends to assist state of Punjab to design and pilot health energy audit in identified public health facilities. Based on audit of health facilities across levels it plans to develop Standard Operating Process (SoP) and propose a comprehensive plan with short, medium and long-term activities for integration within public health infrastructure. Further the proposed assignment aim to identify the capacity building needs mainly with staffs of Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), Punjab Health System Corporation (PHSC) and other relevant stakeholders to institutionalize the health-energy nexus for scaling up across Punjab. The assignment is expected to be completed by 31st March 2022.
